The Communication Strategy

This session addresses the behavioral and communication dynamics that influence mediation outcomes. While mediation is structured, negotiation effectiveness depends heavily on how parties engage in discussion.

Participants will be introduced to the distinction between positions and interests, along with techniques for reframing statements to maintain issue-focused dialogue. The coach will present structured de-escalation methods, including pause strategies, neutral language framing, and preparation techniques to manage emotionally charged topics.

The concept of compromise mapping will be introduced, helping participants visualize trade-offs and prioritize high-impact decisions. For parents, a brief overview of child-centered communication principles will be included to support stable co-parenting frameworks.
